Update: JEE Main paper 2 Result 2018 announced on 31st May.

Candidates can have a sigh of relief as those who appeared in the JEE Main examination, there wait is over as JEE Main Results 2018 is coming soon. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will declare the score and rank of Paper-I of JEE (Main) - 2018 on or before April 30, 2018. Please note that the JEE Main result that will be announced on 30th April will be only for Paper I. The result for Paper II, which is conducted for admission to architecture courses would be released on May 31, 2018.

This year, more than 10 lakh candidates appeared in the JEE Main 2018 offline exam which was held on April 8, 2018, and more than 2 lakh candidates appeared for the online exam held on April 15 and April 16. CBSE will release the JEE Main rank and scorecards of qualified candidates after the announcement of results.

The mentions the qualification status of a student for JEE Advanced 2018 exam. The top 2,20,000 candidates from JEE Main 2018 would be considered qualified for appearing in JEE Advanced 2018 exam.

Steps to check JEE MAIN 2018 Results:

  • Visit the official website - jeemain.nic.in or cbseresults.nic.in
  • Click on the link to check JEE Main Results
  • Enter your JEE Main roll number and date of birth
  • The JEE Main result 2018 will be displayed on your screen 
  • You can download and print the JEE Main 2018 rank card

It is advisable to go through and check the details mentioned on your rank card such as
• Name
• Roll number
• Date of birth
• Father and mother’s name
• State code of eligibility
• Category and nationality
• Marks obtained in each subject: physics, chemistry, mathematics (PCM)
• Total marks obtained
• All India rank (AIR)
• Category rank
• Qualifying status for JEE Advanced 2018
• Cutoff score for to appear in JEE Advanced 2018

JEE Main 2018 is held for admission to engineering and architecture courses in NITs, IIITs and other CFTIs. JEE Main counselling process 2018 will start once the results are declared. The counselling will be done by JoSAA/CSAB. CBSE, released the answer key for the offline exam on April 24 and objections had to be submitted till April 27. The final result is then prepared after resolution of the objections received.


What after the JEE Main Results are announced?

Candidates scoring marks equal to or more than the prescribed JEE Main cutoff get ready for the JEE Advanced. You are now eligible among the 2, 20,000 students to write JEE Advanced for admissions to the IITs. It means to start preparing extensively for the JEE Advanced exam to be conducted on 20 May. The JEE Advanced application form 2018 will be available on the official website from 2 May to 7 May.

Admissions to NITs, IITs and CFTIs will be done via a common counselling conducted by JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) to be held around 19th June. Candidates getting a merit rank in JEE Main are eligible to participate in the counselling.

JoSAA will conduct counselling for 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), 23 Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs), 31 National Institute of Technology (NITs) and 20 Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other GFTIs).
