The Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education was founded in 1965 and the MPBSE Board conducts examinations for Class 10 and Class 12.
The MP Board looks after the promotion and development of Secondary education in Madhya Pradesh. The MPBSE Board not only regulates, supervises and control school education in Madhya Pradesh but also prepare academic programmes and organise examinations, especially for state level High School Certificate (HSC or Class 10) and Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC or Class 12).
MPBSE Board recommend the syllabus, propose rules and specify courses of instruction and textbooks, teaching by correspondence courses, recognition of higher school and higher secondary schools in Madhya Pradesh.
